Therapy for OCD & Anxiety

What is I-CBT?

Inference-Based CBT is a cognitive, structured treatment for OCD with over 30 years of clinical research. It works by addressing inferential confusion, the specific reasoning pattern that makes the brain treat imagination as reality and drives the OCD cycle. No exposure exercises, no distress tolerance and a structured, evidence-based process.

Common Experiences

Who seeks I-CBT ?

People seek I-CBT for many reasons. You may benefit from this approach if you are experiencing:

1 in 40 adults meets the criteria for OCD, according to the International OCD Foundation.

I-CBT is supported by over three decades of clinical evidence and research. While it may feel different from traditional therapies you’ve tried, it is a robust, evidence-based treatment recognized globally for its effectiveness in the treatment of OCD. Multiple studies show that by addressing the reasoning process where doubt begins, I-CBT produces significant results. You can feel confident knowing the path we’re taking is grounded in decades of solid, peer-reviewed science – not just theory.

What to expect

How we build your way back to you.

How we work together.

I-CBT is a structured, evidence-based approach. We work through the material together in session. Between sessions there is real homework, not busy work, reflection that extends the work beyond the hour. Early sessions are spent mapping your full ecosystem, including your job, your relationships, your support system, your stress. Because your OCD does not exist in a vacuum and your treatment will not pretend it does.

What life looks like on the other side of this work.

The goal is to help you see yourself as your True Self again, not through the lens of what your OCD says you might be. The checking quiets. The loops slow down. The reassurance-seeking loses its grip. You start making decisions and actually believing them. That is what we are building toward from session one.

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially when your brain already overthinks everything.

You got here by doing what you always do, figuring things out on your own. The consultation is just a conversation. No pressure, no commitment, no intake forms. Just 15 minutes to see if working together makes sense. I am genuinely interested to hear what has been going on.

Why Work With Me

Why work with Nikki?

I built this practice to help women move from “holding it together” to living in their power. I work with high-achieving, professional women, typically in their 20s through 40s – those who are hitting every mark on the outside while running on fumes internally. Our work together is collaborative, evidence-based, and deeply human, complete with the humor that makes hard work sustainable.

The Approach: We use a structured treatment plan with tangible goals. My mission from session one is to make myself unnecessary by giving you the tools to become your own expert.

A True Partnership: If you’ve been looking for a therapist who is as invested in your results as you are, you’ve found her.

I’m really glad you did.

Step Into the Other Side

This is the ultimate goal: a life that actually feels like yours again. You begin to trust yourself, your own senses and move forward with increased confidence.

FAQS

Have questions about OCD therapy?

ERP works through exposure to triggers and tolerating the resulting distress until it passes. It is effective but it requires sitting in significant discomfort during the process, which many people find too overwhelming to sustain. I-CBT works through a cognitive framework that addresses how OCD doubt is created in the first place. There is no exposure hierarchy, no distress tolerance exercises, and no requirement to confront triggers directly. Both approaches have strong research support. I-CBT is often the better fit for people who tried ERP and found it too hard to continue.

While everyone’s pace is different, we start with the end in mind. From our very first session, our goal is to get you real, tangible relief from OCD so you can confidently
graduate from therapy and take back the keys to your life.

No. Many clients come directly to I-CBT without having tried ERP at all, either because they researched it and decided it was not right for them, or because they were referred by a provider who recommended I-CBT specifically. You do not need a history of failed ERP to qualify for this approach.

Yes. Nikki accepts referrals from psychiatrists, therapists, and other providers whose clients need specialized I-CBT treatment. Reach out directly to discuss fit and availability.

In Florida, several major insurance plans are accepted. In Texas, insurance is accepted depending on the plan. In Virginia, all sessions are private pay. Reach out if you are unsure what your plan covers and we can help figure it out.
